I don't have Word but Open Office. All mail attachments created with Word as .doc now open with WordPad as .rtf But I would like to open them with Open Office Writer as .doc. How?How to change default program for opening Word files in mail attachments?
Change the file association with a different program. Right click on the file then click properties. In the properties box it will tell you what the type of file is. Underneath that there is a line that says open with and a button that says change. click on change and point to the relevant program you want the file to open with.
