How to change default language in Word?

When I set a language as the default input language in Microsoft Office Word, and I then restart Word, the changes are not retained. How to change default language in Word?
Are you clicking the Default button on the Set Language dialog box?

Also, are the proofing tools (the language pack) for that language installed on the machine? Not all languages are available. English, French and Spanish (several varieties of each) come as a pack. Other languages come separately. But setting as Default one that's not on the machine probably won't work.

Hope that helps. How to change default language in Word?
Go on the top menu bar. Click on tools. On that click language. On that click set language. And select ur language. Dun. ^^
I assume you have the Language Pack for the other language installed and you went to the Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings to select another language, say French.

When you restart Word, Word will automatically switch to your default language of your Operating system (that's the way Microsoft has it designed). You need to go to Control Panel -%26gt; Regional and Language Options and change the language to French. Then, when you restart Word, it retains French.
