When I open an email attachment, it automatically opens in WordPad. How change default to Adobe Reader?

When attachments open automatically in WordPad, they are gibberish. If I save and open in Adobe Reader they are good.

How make Adobe automatic default? When I open an email attachment, it automatically opens in WordPad. How change default to Adobe Reader?
This depends on what the extension is of the files that you are opening. If they end in pdf, they'll automatically open with Reader. If they are txt, they'll open with Notepad. You'll have to change the default programs that open the particular extension. One way of doing this is to save a file that you want to open with Reader on your desktop. Then, right click the file and choose Open With... If you get an option asking about visiting the Web, select the option that says ';Select a program from a list.'; From there, highlight Adobe Reader, click the box that says ';Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'; and click OK. Be careful doing this though - anything that ends with a txt (or whatever the file extension is that you're choosing) will be opened with Adobe Reader, and that may cause some problems with some other files you may have. When I open an email attachment, it automatically opens in WordPad. What an easy solution to a troublesome problem! Thanks

There should be an option under ';tools'; or ';options';, depends on what e-mail you are using.
