How to change default drag and drop action to 'Move' instead of 'Copy'?

When i drag a file from a folder in windows explorer to my desktop, it copies the file to my desktop instead of moving it there (cut and paste there). How to I change the default action to 'move' instead of 'copy' when i drag and drop files?

Thank you.How to change default drag and drop action to 'Move' instead of 'Copy'?
Well, that doesn't happen to me.

Maybe your dragging files from a disk drive other than your primary one (a removable one or a network drive?) that's why the result of the drag is a ';copy'; and not a ';move';.

Well, you can still use the right click (and hold ofcourse) to drag files, and when you release, you will be prompted if you want to ';copy'; or ';move'; the dragged file.
